Hey there all. While my wife and I were in Florence in February I managed to get to a number of places mentioned in "Brimstone". We didn't go to
any of the places mentioned in "The Monster of Florence", but I can completely understand why Douglas Preston loves the place so much. It was an
absolutely GREAT place and experience and I would love to get back there again some time. I have posted the best photos in my images if anyone is interested.^^

I'm not talking about just all the "my dear Vincent" stuff and being all like "thirty percent, it's perfectly normal,

On page 133 of the hardback edition we have Pendergast "seizing the CPU" from Bullard. Careful reading of the text indicates that what is in fact
seized is the entire computer box.........not the CPU, which is just the chip that runs the whole thing. Whilst I have often heard the "box" refered
to as the "computer" or the other way around. I don't think I have ever heard the whole thing called the CPU. Nitpicking perhaps but the text is
a little confusing.

I've done a search and can't find an answer, so I thought I'd ask you all: the old mansions they mention, where Pendergast lives in NY...when I map

much skipped over. It's just not interesting, I'm afraid. Some of the stuff involving the strad is also a huge stretch, but I can look past that for

taken his son to Italy to visit his great grandmother. But my recollection in Brimstone was that it was his first visit to Italy, and it was a very emotional
experience for him. Unfortunately, I loaned out the book so I can't check it and see if I was mistaken when I read it the first time. Anyone recall? I

I just started Brimstone last night, very good so far! Love how Pendergast is right in the book in chapter 2.

What I wanted to mention was how happy I was to see how Preston and Child handled Jeremy Grove's bisexuality. Being a gay man, I felt a great relief that
my favorite fictional character doesn't seem to be against other sexual preferences than his own. I give a great big thanks to Preston and Child! I just

Just finished Brimstone this very afternoon and it's safe to say that I enjoyed the hell out of it. As I looked up the "Pendergast" series
online, after getting hooked by Cabinet, I never really understood why D'Agosta was said to be Pendergast's best friend. If nothing else, this book
fleshed their relationship out, and it really seems to fit. This is almost like an odd couple/buddy cop movie, with the twist of Pendergast being off the
charts eccentric/brilliant. The...

On page 122 of the paperback copy of Brimstone that I was reading, D'Agosta is running from some unknown men with high powered rifles with laser sights. It states that he checks his magazine and it is empty leaving him with two in the chamber. This greatly ruined the story for me and started to break down the entire chapter for me. A glock, and any semi auto pistol that I am aware of for that matter, only holds one round in the chamber. So he would need a single round in the magazine and...

at the end of Brimstone (paperback), the authors state their use of the character Count Fosco from The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. I managed to get my hands on a copy and I read it. I have to say it outshone any given books of the Victorian period. It is slow moving, but not in a bad way, because this allows the characters to develop completely. Fosco was great- every inch the respectable villian as in Brimstone. A round of applause to P/C for pulling off such an amazing transfer!...
