His pendant was platinum. Perhaps a little pricy for us. Sterling silver would have a similar look at a much lower cost.

I've already got one (hence the name Silver Phoenix), so I was fashionable before I knew I was fashionable!
Although I did get mine last spring, before I had even read that far in the series. Before Christians began sporting execution-equipment as a fashion symbol to denote their religious affiliation, Europeans used the phoenix as a symbol of Christ (to represent the resurrection). I don't like wearing a little-bitty, primitive gallows around my neck, so I decided to go 'old school.' I got very lucky and found a place in Florida (at Universal's Islands of Adventure--a must see amusement park. V Utopia-like) that has an old Da Vinci coin press. Silver was only $45, too. I have a total irreverence for anything connected with society except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer.

I would buy the pendergast family crest if it was well priced.

Silver would be great. It would have to be something they were directly involved in, though, since we'd want it to look exactly how they intended it. I don't know how they would do it, but I wish they would.

Well, the last post here was in 2005, but I'll chime in anyway. I just finished rereading Brimstone--these books are SO much better the second time
around--and I have a question about the pendant. Vinnie ends up with it, having taken it from the melted evil Fosco, I know, but I guess now it's got evil
Fosco's own crest engraved on the back? That just seems wrong...... I'm going to start rereading DOD tonight, where maybe this is cleared up, but that
question struck me right away.
Also, I would love to get me some official Pendergroupie bling and wear my fangirlyness around my neck. Sterling would be just fine, thanks. Pretty please? |

Yeah, resurrect the idea!
I would assume the back of the talisman could be restored somehow, and that Pendergast would have the means (monetary and whatever connections) to do it. He probably had it done as soon as he was able. Wonder if it'll be mentioned again in future book.

oh my god I would totally get one of these.
I was vaguely thinking about the possibility of getting the design tattooed somewhere. Then I decided to get a robot instead, but a tattoo would still be cool. On someone else. Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau. The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine. |

About the lidless eye over three balls mentioned upthread, am I dreaming, or is there a description in one of the books of the official family crest being a
lidless eye over two moons, one full and one new, with a crouching lion underneath? I can't have made that up. Probably appears in one of the later
books.....

Does anyone know who drew this?
I found it on a Facebook "pieces of flair" app as the Pendergast family medallion. (And now I has it as flair, along with 23 other people.) Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau. The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine. |

That sounds close. Look at the family tree in Corrie's journal for an excellent illustration of it. I almost want to look up the exact reference, but I'll have to wait. I have no idea who drew the above image.

If anyone cares my sister and I have matching Phoenix tattoos. I liked the image and story of the phoenix, and it goes with my other tattoo. I can post a pic
of it if interested. (I drew the design with my tattoo guy he's a friend and amazing tattoo artist)

Sure, I'd like to see it. I find the phoenix symbolism appealing too.

I'm having some trouble uploading photos and need a little help. I went to the add images icon off the add reply, went to upload photo, clicked on the
browse button to find my photo, then clicked upload. It says it uploaded the file but I can't see it. It did the same thing when I went to my profile and
tried to change my avatar. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... I assume you are clicking on "Insert Image" which is the little mountain icon, which would prompt you to either add a photo you have stored
on yuku, to "add from URL" or to upload. You are uploading from there, right? I admit, I've never done it that way. Let me try it and see what
happens...
Okay, let me ask you this, after it looks like it uploads and you click "done" are you then finding the image and selecting it? It's uploading to an album on yuku, so once it downloads, you still have to then select it for it to be inserted into your post. If you successfully downloaded it, try inserting it again - click on that icon, and when the box drops down (or whatever you call it) see if it's one of the images you can now choose from.

I am clicking the mountain icon. I do click done, and it doesn't show it as one of the images to choose from. It's like it uploads but isn't
there? What is the way you normally do it? I'm just looking for the quickest/easiest way. Thanks!!!

Try uploading it again by going to your images first. When you are logged in, from the board or your profile, click on "Images" at the top of the
screen. Should bring you to a directory of your album(s), or you can create an album (you automatically have one for avatars, I think). Click on the album you
want to store the image in. Then click the "upload file" button. From there, follow these instructions. Once you do that, look in the album to make sure the image is there. Once
you see it, try posting it again, via the mountain icon. If you still don't see it when the box drops down, click the blue "refresh button"
there, and see if it appears. Hope that helps somehow.

thanks, I will try reading the links. I did log in and try to add or update my current album. I tried creating a new one and adding several different kinds
of picture files (thinking maybe something was wrong with that specific file). It said on the bottom left corner of my windows browser that it was
communicating/waiting for a response from yuku, then it said it was waiting for rebanne08, then it all of a sudden was done, but there were no pictures. It
says it has loaded them when the done window pops up, however there are no pics there. I don't know if I have some kind of lock or block on my acct. that
I need to change so that I can upload pics. I just don't understand it, because I didn't have any trouble when I created my acct. Dini, I will look
through those links and see if there are any suggestions in there. If you can think of anything else let me know!

Okay, so I've been working on the photo thing. My sis has facebook and my computer let her upload pics to that. But, I still can't get images to
upload even after reading through the tutorials. The only thing I haven't tried is signing up for photobucket. Dini, do you have to sign up for
photobucket in order to upload pics?
