For me, I wonder about D'Agosta, and whether he will encounter any age-related health problems in the future. He has so much anger and stress, I am actually starting to become terrified that he might have a heart attack at some point. And that freaks me out. I also wonder about Wren's age-related health. Of course we all know we don't have to worry about Pendie's health, except for line of duty dangers. Other stuff, I'm sure. I wonder, I really wonder, if Pendergast would have the audacity to do that... But I have wondered that more than a couple of times. This is probably really silly and pointless, but I would love it if one of the main characters had a dog. I'm thinking Corrie would be perfect. She could do a cat, sure, but I just think her, beatin' the street on her private detective gig (err, I've daydreamed a little) with a german shepherd or something... that's just cool! I need to put more thought into it. Swiped from another thread conversation, I'd really like to know why Pendie fell so hard for Viola before he even knew her. I mean, what was it about her? He knew a bit in advance, and didn't seem affected by what he read about her family and heritage and stuff. And I don't think Pendie's one to show external symptoms of a "crush", or thinking someone is hot or whatever. He's always calm and collected and together. I've thrown my theory out there, that she's the spitting image of Helen and that's why he practically fainted when she came over. I'd love to know if that's true. I wonder whether MARGO WILL BE GIVEN A SUBSTANTIAL ROLE IN ANOTHER BOOK SOMEDAY! Actually... this is a major Cemetery Dance SPOILER... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . There could be a book, with Pendergast, heavily featuring Margo and Nora teaming up on some interesting case. Traveling somewhere, not just in the museum, as much as I love that setting. D'Agosta should be along for the ride, too, I think. Hayward can stay out of that book and work on her precious career. (I like her character for the most part, and really like the development of her relationship with D'Agosta, but her attitude annoys me - which is actually good, because she's a three-dimensional character... I'm getting off-track, and that's another thread...) Anyway, Nora would obviously be struggling to recover her life, and I'd love to see Margo in the same situation. Mostly back to normal and functional, but then we find that she has been severely traumatized because of Diogenes. Which, naturally, concerns Pendergast, even though she hides it, until certain moments bring on a type of post-traumatic stress reaction. I don't know... maybe night terrors, or she's addicted to pain killers, or something dramatic, but tangential to the main action of the story. I'd like to see D'Agosta contemplating whether he should remain a cop. Maybe he becomes more frustrated with the way his hands are often tied. I do not want to see him get kicked off the force, but rather contemplating whether he should leave it. I've mentioned it before elsewhere, but maybe he could be a type of private eye or something similar. But then he'd get frustrated because all he could do would be to gather info, not being supposed to act upon it. Of course he would act upon it... That could be interesting. I agree, they need to bring Margo back with a vengeance. I think something not too damaging this time, though--not sure how much more the poor girl can take! But a little alcohol dependency would make things interesting... or perhaps she develops another separate personality! I've been thinking lately that it would be really cool to see a Pendergast book surrounding a cold case. Not like Cabinet was, but more like an old death once ruled an accident and Pendergast puts some pieces together and realizes there's a serial killer on the loose! Not only that, but maybe that one cold case is the key to cracking a major case that is current or something. The last missing piece of the puzzle that the Feds need, that kind of thing. I do think it would do all the characters some good to completely remove themselves from New York for a book. The dynamics of the city, the politics of the law enforcement world, etc. etc. are so weighty that it would be kind of cool if they were able to be free of them for one book. I liked that about SLWC--Pendie and Hazen were at each other a little bit, but ultimately for the greater good, whereas in New York it's all about image and politics and every man for himself. It gets heavy and depressing at times. [[[[[[[[[***SPOILERS WITHIN BRACKETS--APPLIES TO CD, CAREFUL!*** I loved the new book, and I love the way P&C really sorta mold and form your emotions to suit each moment in the book. I mean, the whole time I was reading I was digging it (well, except certain parts of course... sobs), but the whole time I was reading I just felt tight and stressed and just burdened in a way. Later I took not of that fact, and tied it to the anger and attitude D'Agosta was feeling, and then on top of that, they way everyone was treating Vinnie throughout the whole book. It made me tight as a spring, which sounds unpleasant, but in a way it made the book come alive every step of the way. And I better stop before this has to be turned into a CD comment rather than a Bones comment, LOL! Basically, what I mean is I loved the book, but it really stressed me out! Posts: 12 (05/21/09 01:43 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	damn Dininebula, i am with NP on this one, i think you are on to something....I obviously want Diogenes to come back, hence my name, and i most def want to know more about the baby that Constance is having...i think Margo, being the independant woman she is, would be a great person to fall into some kind of problem, like you said about maybe being addicted to painkillers or something, then seeing her show her strength by getting out of it..and wouldnt it be great to see Eli Glynn again, the entire time i was reading The Ice Limit i was thinking about how Pendergast and him should meet, then i got my wish, so i would be happy to see them together again..
